Introduction
This Privacy Policy explains how Ellam handles information when you use the app, this website, and related pages.
Ellam is designed so your conversations stay between you and the services you use. We do not read your messages, store their contents on our servers, or build profiles from your personal conversations.
What we collect
Account and website information
If you contact us, join a waitlist, request access, or submit a form, we may receive the information you choose to share, such as your name, email address, company, phone number, and message.
Product and device information
Ellam may store basic local app settings on your device so the app can remember your layout, workspaces, preferences, and sessions.
We do not collect the contents of your messages, emails, files, notebook items, or searches as part of normal product use.
Your messages, files, and notebook content
Ellam loads the official web versions of the services you choose to use. Your messages and other content continue to be handled by those providers in the same way they would be in your browser.
In plain terms: we are the frame, not the picture. Your conversations, files, and notebook content are not uploaded to our servers as part of the core Ellam experience.
Crash reports
Ellam includes an option to send crash reports to help us diagnose failures and improve stability. This setting is enabled by default, but you can turn it off in the app settings at any time.
Crash reports may include technical details such as operating system version, app version, device type, stack traces, and error context needed to understand what went wrong.
Crash reports are intended to contain technical information, not the content of your messages or files. If a crash happens while a service is open, incidental fragments of technical state may occasionally appear in a report. We use reasonable steps to limit this and to review reports only for debugging and reliability.
Help improve Ellam
Ellam also offers an optional product improvement setting that lets us receive limited telemetry about how the app is used. This helps us understand what is working well and where we should improve.
Examples of telemetry we may receive
App version, operating system, which services are enabled, feature usage events, and the length of a search query.
What we do not collect here
The content of search queries, message contents, notebook contents, attachments, contact lists, or personal conversation data.
If you disable this setting, Ellam will stop sending this product improvement telemetry going forward.
